Each year, Spectrum Management Group donates and participates with non-profit organizations to help communities in the greater Indianapolis area. We believe donating time and funds to fellow Hoosiers in need helps the team at Spectrum thrive.
On June 11, 2021, we were able to branch out of our typical philanthropy involvement by partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis.
If you’re not familiar with Habitat for Humanity, it is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Habitat for Humanity not only provides stable and affordable housing for those in need, they also provide valuable financial literacy and education courses that all homeowners are required to participate in. This empowers homeowners to have more financial stability and become self-sufficient in the future. Habitat for Humanity homeowners also participate in the building and finishing of their new homes, paving the way for a new outlook on life.
The Spectrum Team participated in a project day at two homes being built near downtown Indianapolis. The two homeowners are hardworking individuals who have a passion for helping others in a healthcare setting. One home is designated for a United States Marine Corps veteran who currently works at the VA Hospital. The second home is designated for a single mother who works for IU Health and takes care of two children, one being special needs and in a wheelchair. Along with donors and volunteers, Habitat for Humanity is providing a home for this family that is wheelchair-accessible in all aspects.
Our day was filled with camaraderie and hard-work that strengthened our relationship as a team. Members of our staff helped with various tasks, including interior and exterior painting, built and installed permanent shelving, and helped with post-construction cleaning to prepare the homes for floor installation. We are grateful for the opportunity to help support the families who will be moving into their new homes in the coming months.
